In case you missed it...

    1-800-829-1040 is a phone number for the IRS.  If you called it before  
this morning (11/20/95) you had the eerie pleasure of hearing the Internal  
Revenue Service say they were closed indefinitely, ending with a pitiful  
statement like:

  "Please consult your local news media to learn when the U. S. Government
   will be open for business again..."
