In the News:  Cutler Daily Scoop, on California Governor Pete Wilson's
campaign saying it wants to concentrate his money where it can be most
effective: "Given Wilson's odds, that would mean the lottery."

Cutler, on Gen. Colin Powell telling Barbara Walters that he's an abortion-
rights supporter, pro-gun control and against mandatory school prayer: "So
much for his being handed the GOP nomination by acclamation."

Sisters Sadie and Bessie Delany celebrated their birthdays with a party
earlier this week.  Sadie turned 106 on Tuesday, Bessie 104 Sept. 3rd.

[Isn't this an old item?  I thought Bessie died recently... missing today's

The U.S. Postal Department says it's making money this year.  It attributes
the almost 1.8 billion profit to cost-cutting.  [How is the Postal Dept.
saving money?  Canceled its membership in the NRA.] (Radio's "InterPrep")
