I don't know what this Karyn person was looking at, but I am looking at page
88 of the May 22, 1995 issue of InformationWeek, in the "Applications"
section, and in column 3, there is a short article entitled "In Short:
Thwarting "softlifters", that has *exactly* the text that the so-called
"bait" claimed it would. [For reference, on the same page is an article
entitled "Messaging Your Secrets" about a PC email security package from
Axent.]

If you want, I can fax it to you.

Seems we're all so quick to label something "flame-bait" that we don't do
exactly what we always tell other people to do: CHECK YOUR REFERENCES
BEFORE FORWARDING JUNK. In this case the junk originated with Karyn.
Either InformationWeek runs regional editions with different articles, or
else Karyn made a very stupid mistake for which she oughta apologize.

So there.
