I personally saw a woman climb Ayer's Rock in heels and a fur coat.
That's about a 1500 foot climb, with some sections requiring rope
aid.  At the bottom are six plaques commemerating those who have died
there, from falls or just heat prostration.

On the way down we counted the places someone had barfed - there were
31 visible.
